WH first Alumni Meeting was held in Mawlamyine

Wide Horizons hosted the first WH Alumni Meeting in Mawlamyine with the purpose of  to build stronger nnetwork. Total number of participants were 20 people and they were from different organization such as Karen Development Network (KDN), Mon Women Organization, Khom Loy Foundation and KCDS. Work placement students and Alumni were enthusiastic to cooperate together in this meeting.

In this meeting, work placement students presented their project success and the alumni presented their achievement in their host organization. In addition, WH invited experienced guest speaker Nan Myint Aung (Co-founder of Veranda Café) and Miss Bloy (Founder of Mon ethnic product business) to shared their experiences of starting Social-Enterprises. Furthermore, the mentor & mentee program was introduced in the meeting and many work placement students and some alumni were interested to be mentor in 2019. These include, meeting in the first day and trip on the second day. This year, we end the first day meeting by visiting Mawlamyine View Point.

Second day, after strategic planning, in afternoon we visited Bilujun Island to Miss Bloy’s shop (Mon local products)
