"We were all different but we shared the same destination- learning"

WH alumni, Nway Nway Oo

The English curriculum introduces the students to elements like persuasive report and speech writing, formal email writing, CV and cover letter writing, job interview techniques and other components that are essential in any professional environment.

It is divided into different skill areas, writing, reading, listening and speaking. In writing, students develop their writing skills from basic paragraphs and essays to being able to write different types of reports that could be beneficial to their organisation.

Students are exposed to a wide range of readings and listenings from literature, news articles and organisation reports. Students develop their notetaking and summarising abilities, while improving their analytical skills, reflecting on the different topics and making connections to other aspects of their lives.

In speaking, the students’ aim is to build their confidence. They practice speaking through discussions, presentations and debates. The students also get experience in facilitation and leading group discussions.

The English curriculum also provides many useful skills that develop the students professionally. Students learn vital elements on time management, formal e-mail writing, resumes, cover letters and job interview techniques.
