Basic Waste Management Toolkit

Goal
● To develop Waste Management Campaign Toolkits (created in 2020) and distribute to wider communities

Objective
● Conduct pilot training at Dahrah Learning center and gather feedback from experts in waste
● Improve the Waste Management Toolkit book started in 2020.
● Organize composting training to educational learning center around Mawlamyine

The Gulf of Mottama Project (2015-2024) years project aims to develop and strengthen sustainable management of the Gulf of Mottama’s natural resources and resilience of local communities. In the second phase (2019-2021), the Gulf of Mottama Project (GoMP) plans to address waste management issues through research and project activities in order to conserve coastal environment and combat climate change as one of the objectives of the project. It is implemented by HELVETAS, IUCN, NAG, BANCA and GoMP with the support of various local organizations, such as Wide Horizons.


Wide Horizons (WH) 2020 student organizers researched primary school's in Chaungzon. Wide Horizons 2020 student organizers created waste awareness toolkit book with the advice of Thant Myanmar.


Wide Horizons 2021 academic year student organizers needed to continue to edit the information in toolkit book. The student organizers conducted three training concerning about waste at learning center in Mawlamyine. After that, the organizers took feedback from participants and edited the waste awareness toolkit book. In addition, the organizers sent those book to the people who are expert about waste to get feedback, organizers researched about waste information for those toolkit book and improve the toolkit book.
