MIEP Organizational Development Training Project

Goal
● To develop organization for teacher at Mon Intensive English Program.

Objective
● Provide standardized English curriculum training for Elementary and Pre-intermediate level one week in mid-October for 4 teachers at Mon Intensive English Program to help them to use their resources effectively on the lesson.

Problem Statement

Standardized curriculum is very important for every school. However, Mon Intensive English Program (MIEP) does not have systematic English curriculum for 6 months course. This problem effects to the students’ learning because the English curriculum is essential for MIEP to set up the students’ goal to improve English skills for continued further study. MIEP does not have consistent English curriculum. According to our research, 4 teachers are facing difficulty in teaching because of no curriculum and teachers could not organize the lessons and have less activities in class. In addition, the teachers have less idea to teach without curriculum.

The teachers cannot measure their students’ level after they finished the course. They don’t know students improvement and skill as well. According to program coordinator, since 4th batch, the students cannot apply the higher education program because they are low skills to apply further study, comparing with 1st batch, 2nd batch and 3rd batch. Moreover, students not able to gain skillful lesson without organized curriculum.

Project (Solution)

To solve this problem, we plan to contact with Mote Oo Education and Educasia Curriculum Project to provide standardized English curriculum for MIEP. According to our survey, we are deciding to provide curriculum training includes Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills for teachers in MIEP. The teachers can obtain more sources to teach the students and they can plan the lesson logically. In addition, methodical curriculum is to know the students level and improvement. Finally, the students will gain more English ability from this project.
