Project Summary

In the 2021 academic year, Waste management group members had a plan to develop the waste management system for Wide Horizons sustainable development. According to waste management research, the school staff and students needed a waste management system. Because the waste system was not specific then we are facing the waste problem as the first priority of Wide Horizons. Due to lack of mange waste, the school was facing a bad smell around the boy dorm site. Some animals such as dogs, and rats dug the ground to be a hole. In the rainy seasons, we could not manage leaves waste because the school does not have a good space to solve this problem. It affected some of the animals' snacks that also come in the school compound.

To solve this problem, we built a good quality compost building to upgrade our waste management system. By providing the waste training and compost training, it benefitted the current school and community and every academic year for students or school.

The project has improved the environment and made our standard of living cleaner and healthier in future years.

We built the compost building with iron net, Wide Horizons can manage waste system for long term then we can effort for community to be awareness concerning with wastes. That’s why, we need some support to construct compost building for Waste management projects for school development.

Process for implementing cold compost system

Step 1: stand the bamboo stick in the middle of circle

Step 2: we have to make a circle with 10 feet high, 4 feet iron net or fishing net by using

wire net.

Step 3: Stand strongly bamboo stick around the iron net to be stable

Step 4: Make a hole of 1 inches PVC pipe then cover the middle of bamboo stick

Step 5: Put dry leaves , vegetable waste from kitchen, put some of thicker paper to absorb the liquid from building

Step 6: We can put until full of building and press on it everyday.

Step 7: Watering 15 liters in the PVC pile for every day but not raining day.

Step 8: Keep more than 3 months then it will smell like Vinegar

Step 9: After 6 months, we can take out compost soil.
