Summary of Problem

Kitchen is an essential place to make hygienic meals. However, Wide Horizons School is facing with kitchen problem such as messy and disorganized materials. These are creating many hygienic problems because of dogs, mice and other insects come and eat the rubbish and get bad smell from rubbish liquid leaking out. Additionally, it can effect to the students and staffs’ health. To solve this problem, we will reorganize and buy kitchen materials to make neat and tidy.

Certainly, 23 WH students and 5 staffs are facing with messy and disorganized kitchen. There are a lot of unrelated materials in the kitchen. It is a small space, opening and related with toilet, office and classroom. Kitchen has to share place with office. As a result, WH kitchen becomes tiny and crowded.

As a consequence, 23 students are busy with disorganized materials during their cooking duty. They have to clean and organize more time while they have cooking duty. It effected to their self-study time and lessons time. On the other hand, some animals like mice and flies come and eat waste foods in rubbish bin. According to our survey, 22 students see flies and mice come to the kitchen. Sometimes, rubbish bin plastic bag is broken and get bad smell because of mice. These problems give not only bad smell but also health problems such as diarrhea.

To solve this issue, we will redesign WH kitchen, remove some of unrelated kitchen materials and buy some materials such as cupboard and shelf to put kitchen materials systematically. Moreover, we will buy and put wet and dry rubbish bins with cover to keep rubbish separately.
